What are the continued costs for each therapy session?
Depending on your depth of exploration, and compassionate action taking you may only require a few sessions, however people prefer longer term therapy to work through complex trauma and develop a greater sense of self compassion.
Every therapist has a unique approach to working. My approach is very compassion focused. We may find it beneficial to gain a deeper understanding of your past experiences to enable you to heal from traumatic life events. I encourage my clients to take a mindful approach to living with a clearer compassionate lens moving towards making healthier life choices.
I continued further training in Compassion Focused Therapy and continue developing specialist training in this area. I am an accredited professional member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) which offers me a professional membership. Within their membership they offer an ethical framework for good practice which I adhere too. I have fortnightly contact with my clinical supervisor to work to a high standard of practice and make sure I am working to meet my client’s needs safely.
My intention is to provide a safe and compassionately held space to work together to build up trust, maintain respect and enable you to continue to learn more about yourself and make significant changes to feel growth and acceptance.
I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

To ensure we are working in your best interest, we review the counselling process continuously. During the time we spend together, it becomes clearer how we work towards an ending. I appreciate client’s individual requirements vary and not everyone needs to commit to long term therapy.
After an agreed number of weekly sessions some clients choose to reduce to fortnightly, then monthly sessions until they feel ready to end the therapeutic process. I will ask for your feedback as to what is helping and if we require a change of focus.
I always appreciate clients letting me know if they want to end therapy sooner than anticipated. I am mindful things can change such as finances, availability or your desire to try out another therapeutic process. I just can’t work with you while you are working with another mental health therapist for your individual therapy. Honesty is truly valued as part of our work together.

More About Me
People soon get to know how important being playful is to me in my everyday life. I love my fondness for pandas; this started in childhood which I have continued. My association with pandas reminds me to take a pause and remember to be playful.
Working with trauma, suffering, healing and recovery can be heavy going at times so it is paramount I offer myself a lighter touch in my personal life and nourish myself with care and compassion. Pandas are a gentle reminder to see joy in the things I engage in. It truly is a privilege to support people in therapy and compassionate connections happen when we learn to be more aware, accepting and grateful in our shared experiences.
I love nature walks; they are a way I nourish myself and attend to my own wellbeing. I enjoy walking my grand puppy on sensory walks in nature. We are often playful hiding in woods, running, chasing and sitting to soak up the benefits of forest bathing. I attend regular mindfulness, meditation and yoga practices within wonderful communities.
Do you know what offers you a gentle break from ‘doing mode’ where we can often feel overwhelmed?
This is an area many people can feel stuck in when their emotional systems get out of balance. Things they once enjoyed don’t offer them the same release and outlet because their emotional systems are so activated with anxiety, stress or loss.
